Overview
A 7-day journey through Kenya's south — Amboseli elephants, Tsavo West's volcanic landscapes, and Tsavo East's red wilderness.
Southern Kenya is elephant country — and this 7-day journey takes you deep into its heart. Begin at Amboseli, where Africa's largest elephant herds roam beneath Kilimanjaro's ice-capped peak. Spend three nights tracking the matriarchs, watching bulls spar at the swamps, and photographing tuskers against what may be the most spectacular backdrop on the continent. Continue southeast to Tsavo West, where the volcanic Chyulu Hills meet the vast bushland, and crystal-clear Mzima Springs reveal hippos and crocodiles through an underwater viewing chamber. Finish in Tsavo East — Kenya's largest park — where the red-dusted elephants, baobab forests, and roaming lion prides give you a taste of wild, untouched Africa. This route is quieter, less touristy, and richer in solitude than the northern circuits.
